Reconnect with your College of Business alma mater at the next Eagle Business Network breakfast on February 1. The morning will feature a tour of the UNT Frisco Campus, buffet breakfast and special guest appearance from Gerald J. Reihsen, III, public speaker, entrepreneur, public company director, non profit director, consultant and lawyer.

Gerry will be discussing the first decentralized digital currency, better known as Bitcoin. A question and answer session will be held at the conclusion of the presentation.

Gerry Reihsen accesses a foundation of high level international corporate-securities law and global entrepreneurial dynamics to build innovative businesses, both as a principal and for his advisory clients. Gerry drives value from multiple perspectives, as counselor/advisor, corporate development officer, executive team member, and/or board member.

Maintaining familiarity with emerging trends in technology and business adds to Mr. Reihsen’s strengths driving new disruptive businesses and keeping established businesses competitive. His current focus includes distributed ledger technology/blockchain technology products and businesses, including tokenization/cryptocurrency models.

Mr. Reihsen has founded, worked with and advised hundreds of enterprises from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups across innumerable industries. Industries of particular concentration are technology, healthcare, finance/credit, investment products/funds, real estate, maritime transport assets, and hospitality. Mr. Reihsen has proven ability to predict and exploit industry direction, create innovative strategies and structures, source capital (more than $6 billion to date), develop enterprises (aggregate value in excess of $12 billion), and execute on exits (through sales/mergers, exchange listings and asset sales).

In addition to his advisory and entrepreneurial activities Mr. Reihsen provides services on for-profit and non-profit boards. He served for three years as a member of the Board of Directors of Ashford, Inc. (NYSE MKT:AINC) and during that time as its Audit Committee Chair and a member of various Special Committees. Ashford is a leading provider of asset management and other services to companies within the hospitality industry. Gerry is a National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Board Leadership Fellow, having completed NACD’s comprehensive program of study for directors and corporate governance professionals.

As to non-profit activities, Mr. Reihsen’s major efforts have been dedicated to the founding of and subsequently serving on the board of Cristo Rey Dallas College Preparatory School, the nation’s most innovative, differentiated, and successful high school concept, which provides life-altering opportunity to the nation’s low income inner city students (http://www.cristoreydallas.org).

Mr. Reihsen leads several professional business, technical, and law organizations and is a sought after speaker and panel participant for his business, board, and legal insights. Recent appearances have been on public company audit committee issues at the BDO Board Forum, securities laws application to token/cryptocurrency sales to the Blockchain Law Study Group of the Dallas Bar Association, how Blockchain be used as the foundation for trusted digital identities for a secure cyber environment at the Cyber Future Summit 2017 of the Cyber Future Foundation, and issues related to tokenization and initial coin offerings at the 2017 Annual Conference of the International Blockchain Real Estate Association.
