Welcome Reception for Andrea Nelson VP of Risk Management Rooney Holdings/Manhattan Construction Group. Food and drinks will be provided.
About Andrea Nelson:
Ms. Nelson is vice president of risk management for Manhattan Construction Group, a national civil and general building service company which includes Manhattan Construction Company, Cantera Concrete, Manhattan Road and Bridge, Manhattan Pipeline, Spectrum, and SafeZone. Manhattan is recognized by Engineering News-Record as a top 20 U.S. domestic builder and in the last two years has received 50+ industry honors for quality and Safety. In her role, she leads a team that makes decisions as to risk management issues that directly impact the strategic direction of the company. Her duties include designing and implementing internal risk management processes; managing the procurement of all insurance products including Contractor Controlled Insurance Programs and Subcontractor Default Insurance programs; contract review and negotiations; promoting developmental growth of department staff and also developing training curriculum for internal clients. Andrea earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of North Texas where she majored in Risk Management and Insurance. She also holds the Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) designation. Andrea has participated in panel speaking opportunities for the International Risk Management Institute (IRMI), Claims & Litigation Management Alliance (CLM), and various broker and carrier conferences. She currently serves on the IRMI Construction Risk Conference advisory board. Andrea is married to James and they have two adult children. They currently reside in Farmers Branch with their 10-year-old rescue, Jett. During non-working hours she enjoys playing golf (badly) and going on 4Wheeling adventures with their Jeep Rubicon.

During the tour, the Dallas Cowboys Risk Manager will address the group. To secure your spot, kindly RSVP by clicking the "register" button below. Priority will be given to GIS Members, and selected individuals will receive a confirmation email.

Transportation will be provided, but there are limited slots on the charter bus. Bus leaves UNT by the Highland Parking Garage and BLB at 2:30 pm and tour begins at 4:00 pm. The bus will return to campus no later than 7:30 pm.
